COVID-19: FCA to Re-open North American Plants Soon
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) detailed its restart plans to suppliers on Wednesday, Automotive News reports.
Production will resume on Monday, April 20 at the Saltillo assembly plant in Mexico, which is notable for building Ram trucks.

As for the Brampton plant in Ontario, home of the Dodge Challenger and Charger as well as the Chrysler 300, it’s expected to restart on May 4. Same thing for the Toledo North plant in Ohio that manufactures the Jeep Wrangler.
Two weeks later, on May 18, the Jeep Gladiator will start rolling again at the Toledo South plant. Other facilities including Belvedere, Illinois (Jeep Cherokee), Toluca, Mexico (Dodge Journey and Jeep Compass) and Windsor, Ontario (Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Pacifica) also have that date on their calendar.
All sites will resume production gradually with just a single shift at first.
FCA’s workforce has been hit hard by COVID-19 with 15 employees dying from the virus so far.
The automaker has also decided to postpone the start of production of the next-generation 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the all-new Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
