New Renderings Show Hypothetical 2022 Honda Civic Wagon, Coupe

Published on April 30, 2021 in News by Guillaume Rivard

The current Honda Civic Hatchback is relatively similar to the Civic Sedan when you compare their silhouettes. Of course, the former has some unique design cues and edgier looks in the rear.

Now that the brand new 2022 Honda Civic has made its debut in four-door body style, with a significantly revised albeit more conservative exterior, we can wonder what its five-door sibling will look like when the company reveals the model later this year.

After all, the Civic Hatchback is designed as a sportier alternative, none more extreme than the high-performance Civic Type R. Black-and-white patent renderings and spy shots of a camouflaged prototype on the road have surfaced online in the past few months, hinting at a swooping roofline that mimics the outgoing generation, which is a positive sign.

On the other hand, some fans and media outlets are having fun imagining other variants, such as this Civic Wagon rendering posted on the Facebook page of X-Tomi Design:

While the picture doesn’t provide a great look at the rear section, it does appear a little boxier. Obviously, Honda has no plans to build a wagon based on the 2022 Civic, but it goes to show that the new design would work well with other configurations.

In fact, thanks to the team at Motor Trend, we can envision what the Civic Coupe would look like if it were still around (Honda axed the model for 2021, remember):
