At Last There’s a Trailer That Can Follow Your Jeep Wrangler Anywhere

Last week’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas wasn’t just about wild concepts and custom builds. Just like every year, parts and specialty equipment companies were all over the place, and one of those that impressed the most was arguably ADDAX Overland.

As you know, the Jeep Wrangler can tackle some of the most challenging terrains on the planet, but cargo space is limited, forcing adventure-seeking drivers to spend less time away from home. Well, there’s a new solution.

Inspired by the U.S. military’s nearly-indestructible surveillance trailers, the Utah-based company has designed an extremely capable and versatile trailer that can follow a Trail Rated-Jeep just about anywhere. It’s actually billed as “Forged on Earth. Tested in Hell.”

The 5-foot-long, 6-foot-wide trailer rides on an independent torsion axle suspension system and oversized all-terrain tires that result in an aggressive 17 inches of ground clearance. The articulating hitch allows plenty of movement and obstacle-clearing ability, too.

The 3/16-inch military-grade steel chassis and 14-gauge steel body are seamlessly bent, instead of welded, to deliver exceptional durability. The trailer weighs a reasonable 850 pounds and offers 991 litres of cargo space. As for payload, it is rated at 1,200 pounds—definitely not a problem for the Wrangler, which can tow up to 3,500 pounds.

When the time comes to make a stop and set up camp, 8,000-pound stabilizing jacks provide secure footing at all corners, while the heavy-duty custom rack up top accommodates various equipment such as a tent.

As mentioned earlier, the ADDAX Overland trailer for the Jeep Wrangler is relatively compact. And with a folding tongue, it can easily be stored in a garage when the trip is over.

Reservations are now open. Actually, customers must put their name on a waiting list. The first deliveries are slated for early 2023. Pricing? The base model starts at $17,995 USD, which is obviously not cheap. Canadian availability has yet to be specified.
