Polestar Will Tune Volvo’s New Engines

Recently, Volvo unveiled their next-gen powertrain that will be installed in all their future vehicles: the Drive-E mills are all four-cylinder units equipped with both a turbocharger and a supercharger. This unusual configuration enables them to offer minimal lag, impressive fuel economy and a lot of power: in the S60, a 2-litre engine can churn out up to 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

If that’s not enough for you, Polestar can help: the Swedish brand’s official tuner will soon launch a large selection of upgrades for the Drive-E engines. These will increase overall horsepower, give even better throttle response, sharpen up gear changes and improve acceleration.

And just like all Polestar products, your car’s warranty won’t be affected; fuel consumption, CO2 emission and interval between services will also stay the same.

The tuner has already announced that the first upgrades will be ready in June; the first engine to receive Polestar’s attention will be the T5 and T6 (and the D4 and D5 diesels). So far, around 140 different configurations will be offered, which should enable you to find the perfect upgrade for your car.
