2022 Honda Civic Now on Sale, Full Pricing Details Announced

Published on June 16, 2021 in News by Guillaume Rivard

The all-new 2022 Honda Civic Sedan is now on sale at Honda dealerships across Canada. If you haven’t read our first driving impressions already, you shouldn’t waste any more time.

Here, we’ll go over pricing and equipment details for what will likely be the best-selling car in the country for a 24th consecutive year.

Increasingly Less Affordable

Due to the elimination of the manual gearbox and base DX trim for 2021, the Civic Sedan’s entry price rose significantly. The trend inevitably continues with the arrival of the eleventh generation, which starts at $24,465 in LX trim plus $1,700 destination charges.

Standard content includes LED headlights, 16-inch steel wheels (steel, really?), a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, push-button start, remote starter, automatic climate control and heated front seats. The naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engine delivers the same 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque via an updated continuously variable transmission.

The Honda Sensing suite of active safety and driver assistance technologies comes standard on all Civic Sedan models for 2022, which is great news. It also adds Blind Spot Information, Traffic Jam Assist and a smoother, more natural feeling to functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist. A rear seat reminder and rear seatbelt reminder are also new and standard across the lineup.

The More Attractive Options

A lot more customers will opt for the Civic EX starting at $26,765. This one gets 16-inch alloy wheels, a one-touch power sliding moonroof, heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control and two additional USB ports for a total of three.

Next is the more stylish Civic Sport at $27,865. It stands out with bespoke 18-inch wheels on low-profile tires, black exterior accents and a chrome exhaust finisher. Inside, look for fabric/leatherette seating surfaces, paddle shifters, sport pedals and a new Sport driving mode.

Finally, the top-line Civic remains the Touring model, which goes over the $30k mark for the first time with a price of $30,265. It’s the most tech-laden of the bunch, featuring a new nine-inch touchscreen with navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, Civic-first Bose premium sound system, 10.2-inch all-digital and customizable instrument display, front and rear parking sensors, as well as wireless smartphone charging.

In another Civic first, the addition of eight sonar sensors to the Touring enables Low-Speed Braking Control along with front and rear false-start prevention.

Let’s remind you that the new 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback will be revealed on June 23—with a manual gearbox for driving enthusiasts. The sporty Civic Si and Civic Type R variants will follow at a later date.
